Philips Avent SCD505/01 DECT Monitor is a crystal clear Digital Audio Baby Monitor which is capable of hearing even the smallest of sounds. This has been designed so parents are able to clear hear their baby’s breath so that they can have some reassurance that their child is safe. Philips Avent have designed this monitor to have a long range so parents do not have to be confined to staying a short distance away. This Avent monitor is able to connect up to 330m apart and is fitted with a light so parents can ensure that they are connected with the baby’s unit. This Super Sensitive monitor has been designed with clever little features that ensure that I will last the test of time. Philips has designed useful features such as a nightlight and lullabies to help the child drift off into a slumber to help parents get the rest they need as well. Avent have also put in the effort to try to make this monitor as low consumption as possible without minimising performance with ideas such as using less power when in a shorter range. To ensure though that the monitor is ready for use, handy indicator lights have been added to this monitor. Two wat Talk-Back.
This baby monitor is portable, the parent unit is supplied with Rechargeable Batteries (included) and the baby unit will also run on 4xAA batteries (not supplied) and both run off Mains Power
Simple, clear and clever are the right words to use to describe this monitor. Child and Parent friendly, this monitor has been built by a team which care and have thought of parents actual needs.

Good quality sound (very little hiss) and copes with thick walls without losing contact. You do have to listen up close to the parent unit if you want to hear breathing, but for any noises louder than that the sound is good. The next model up (which we've had for 2 years for our first child with no complaints) allows you to monitor the room temperature, but other than that the quality of this cheaper model seems to be just as good.

We already had the ibaby camera / iPhone app for keeping an eye on babs, but it doesn't stay active when using the other phone functions. So as a back up we wanted an analogue audio monitor to compliment. I wanted the grace ultra clear system but i cannot buy that here in Singapore. So I had only the limited choice that is over here.
If you are in bed and wish to hear babs gurgles then increase the sensitivity button and volume to max. I doubt it would be heard whilst watching tv though as it is quite quiet, but for what we need it for (nighttime monitoring) its just right.
Have yet to test it at a distance but we are in a pretty big house with really thick walls, so far I am pleased.

This is a great monitor no interference great features.
One major downside is we can't hear our baby unless she is really crying, for this reason I wouldn't recommend this monitor.
