   i have only just used the product for the first time tonight but my baby was sick and thanks to the monitor we were able to see this and get him cleaned up. our previous monitor which was sound only would not have allowed us to know he had been sick. so am liking the product so far!

   I have used this monitor for my two sons and have a camera in each room. (The scan between cameras function is brilliant!) It is so useful to be able to see if your baby has gone to sleep during the day/night or if they are uncovered without having to go into their room and disturb them. Also, if they do wake up, you can see if they have lost a toy or are really upset and need attention or will settle back down shortly without help (excellent for getting them to learn to go to sleep on their own). Obviously when they are only a few months old it's good to be able to see them still breathing too! The night vision is excellent, swapping easily to colour when the room gets brighter in the daytime. The battery lasts a long time and the picture is very clear even when the unit is a long way from the camera, with no interference from computer wifi at all. If I have any issues with this model it is that it is very easy to accidentally turn the camera light on in the baby's room as the button is located on the side of the unit. It would also be good to have a talk to baby facility on it, but I see that has now been included with the new model (that is not compatible with the platinum cameras unfortunately). It would also help if you could buy the monitor unit on it's own as I have just had to buy one with another camera which I don't need as my existing unit had overheated and given up after a good two years continuous use. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy a camera monitor.

   After trying out a 2.4ghz analog monitor which was a disaster, this one is perfect, its as good as a CCTV camera, picture and sound perfect.

6. An excellent product - can't recommend it highly enough

   We have had this for 3 months now and it is simply brilliant (as have been babymonitorsdirect). I can't understand why other reviewers are at all negative.
   
   Firstly, the ability to use mains or battery on both the camera and the monitor is fantastic. We leave our eldest to sleep in the car sometimes and put the camera in with her. We're then able to monitor her from the house or garden.
   
   The ability to have a second camera is great for our 2 children.
   
   The quality of picture is stunning. Everyone who sees it just says "wow".
   
   The battery life on the monitor is absolutely fine - ours lasts about 4 hours in continuous use without the VOX battery saving.
   
   You can set the sensitivity on the microphone across a very wide range. At its most sensitive, from its position in our child's room upstairs it picks up the sound of our kitchen bin being opened and relays it back through the monitor. I can only assume the other reviewer was not adjusting theirs properly.
   
   The volume is definitely adjustable.
   
   We found the cable length fine for our use.
   
   It's small size makes it perfect for travelling with.
   
   Overall, this monitor system does exactly what it says it does, all of it extremely effectively. It is a premium product with a premium performance. Anything else is a compromise.

   We bought this a couple of months ago and have just started to use it for our 11 week old baby. The image quality is fantastic and even at night in B/W we can see the baby breathing. The unit is silent with zero interference and only bleeps when the baby makes a sound or moves. There is a nightlight but it is not too bright. We are really pleased with it.

    I have bought this product with the addition camera and I have to say that it is very good.
    
    pros: looks good, excellent audio and video, crystal clear pictures even in the dark. there is a volume adjustment button, you just press up or down on the dial on the front, it scans between the cameras but does not allow you to decide how much time before it does to the next camera. the aerial is hardly ever used, only needed when I am outside in the garden. also the mic on the camera is very good, too good in fact as it will same times pick up noises from downstairs such as the door closing.
    
    cons: the power adapter cable should be longer, the internal battery on the monitor should be better, even on vox its not great, the buttons seem a little fiddley and the button to raise the aerial in not great. the postion of the night light is not good either as you find yourself pressing it accidently.
    
    none of cons would stop me from recommending this product if you need 2 cameras, however if all you need is one I don't think this camera is that much better than the others on the market. Also if you are thinking of buying a system off ebay which is located in china, don't they are ok but more trouble than its worth.
